đĄď¸ The Cape-Down Creed: Our Collective Manifesto for Healing, Power, and Petty Peace
This ainât your average blog postâthis is a declaration. The Cape-Down Creed is a bold, unapologetic rally cry for Black women who are done being everything for everybody. We're reclaiming our time, our peace, and our powerâline by line. It's giving sass, it's giving truth, and it's giving "we not doing this no more." Read it. Feel it. Live it.

Yes, peace... but with boundaries and a lilâ bounce to it.
đ Introduction
Sis⌠we see you. We are you.
You're out here doing the most with the leastâleading Zoom calls, baking for the baby shower, organizing the family reunion, all while trying to hold your edges and your emotions together.
Youâve been âstrongâ so long it became your default setting. But guess what?
Weâre flipping the switch.
This is your official permission slip to opt out of the chaos and opt into yourself.
Welcome to the Cape-Down Creedâbecause saving the world is cute, but saving yourself is sacred. Letâs go line by line.
đŹ âWe, Black Women, refuse to be the mules of the world any longer.â
Not in the year of our Lord 2025.
Not in Big Twenty Twenty-FIVE, where folks still have the audacity to expect us to do 3 peopleâs jobs and smile about it.
We are not your therapy, your HR department, or your spiritual life coach just because we "seem grounded."
đŁď¸ We said what we said. And we meant itâin flats, heels, or house shoes.
đŹ âWe will not light ourselves on fire to keep others warm.â
Why should we keep burning while folks cozy up around us like itâs a bonfire?
If you want warmth, baby, go find a blanket.
đĽ Self-sacrifice is out, self-preservation is in.
And weâre keeping the matches to ourselves this season.
đŹ âWe will no longer say âyesâ when our spirit is saying âno.ââ
If my soul is whispering âNOPEâ and my ancestors are raising eyebrows from the other side, Iâm not overriding that for your comfort.
Your emergency is not my assignment.
And guess what? I don't even feel bad anymore.
đŹ âWe are worthy of love, joy, softness, boundaries, and becoming.â
Softness, sis. Like silk pillowcase, freshly steamed greens, Anita Baker type softness.
And we donât need to earn it. We wake up worthyâeven with a bonnet, chipped nail polish, and unreturned texts.
đŤśđ˝ Boundaries are not wallsâtheyâre velvet ropes. And this energy? VIP only.
đŹ âThis is our sacred pause. Our collective breath.â
If rest is rebellion, then babyâweâre organizing a whole movement in our pajamas.
Because nothing hits like a nap with your phone on Do Not Disturb and your energy protected by the ancestors.
Weâre not lazy. Weâre legendaryâand weâre doing it in peace, satin-lined and soul-deep.
đŹ âThis is The Cape-Down Creed.â
Say it with your chest⌠and your soul:
âI am no longer volunteering for burnout.â
This ainât just a vibe. Itâs a movement. A ministry. A message.
Drop the cape, sis. You donât need it anymore.
đ§ Petty Pause (Now With Extra Hot Sauce):
We are not your mules. We are not your emergency contact. Not your therapist. Not your motivational speaker when your lifeâs in shambles. And definitely not your backup plan. In Big 2025? We reclaiming time, edges, and boundariesâperiodt!!!!
đŻ Call to Action:
âď¸ Share this with a sis who needs to log off, lie down, and let it go.
âď¸ Say ânoâ today without explaining yourself.
âď¸ Join the Cape-Down Collectiveâbecause soft life isn't selfish. Itâs strategy.
